Note:
For the DM Home RO Water Dispenser (Model: DM-DW19-ROHY-1/2), please follow these steps each time you refill:
- Remove the external water tank and empty any remaining water.
- Fill the raw water tank with fresh water.
Important: Ensure that the water tank is removed for at least 10 seconds before replacing it back into the dispenser. This allows the sensor underneath the raw water tank to reset and update the display prompts. After placing the raw water tank back, the sensor will also need about 10 seconds to detect the changes and resume the purification process.
2. Why is water from the raw water tank going to the waste tank? Is the flow from the waste tank to the raw water tank normal? Can waste water be reused? What causes the waste water to increase?
Water Purification Principle:
After filling the raw water tank, the dispenser extracts raw water for filtration into the built-in tank, which is the normal operation process known as "water purification." During this process, it's normal for the waste water tank's volume to increase, especially after each refill. The RO technology filters water while producing waste water, and the separation design between the raw and waste water tanks ensures the effective lifespan of the filter. Additionally, since the filters can purify down to 0.0001 microns, an increase in waste water is expected. Customers need not worry excessively about waste water volume; please be patient while the filtration completes.
Factors Affecting Waste Water Volume:
The amount of waste water can vary based on the user’s living environment, water quality, daily water usage, and filter lifespan.
Built-in Tank Capacity:
The raw water is not only filtered into the waste tank; the dispenser also pumps water into the built-in tank. Below are the capacities for different models:
-
(Large Model) Home RO Water Dispenser:
- 6L raw water tank
- 3L built-in tank
- 2.5L waste water tank
-
(Small Model) Aquahome RO Water Dispenser:
- 2.6L raw water tank
- 1.5L built-in tank
- 1.3L waste water tank
-
(Large Model) Aquahome Pro 1 RO Water Dispenser:
- 6L raw water tank
- 3L built-in tank
- 2.5L waste water tank
-
(Small Model) Aquahome 2 RO Water Dispenser:
- 2.8L raw water tank
- 1.2L pure water tank (no waste water tank)
Smart Refill and Water Replacement Indicators:
The dispenser requires a sufficient supply of filtered water for internal heating, cooling, and drinking. Therefore, it may occasionally prompt for water refills with indicators like "No Water," the red water drop symbol, or the C water drop symbol.
Advantages of the Raw and Waste Water Tank Separation Design:
As mentioned, RO technology purifies while discharging waste water. The separation design ensures an extended lifespan for the filters. Some market RO dispensers lack this separation, leading to raw and waste water being mixed, which can cause the filters to wear out more quickly.
Should Waste Water Be Reused?
Officially, it is recommended to discard the filtered waste water (or use it for other cleaning purposes) to ensure the normal operation of the filtration system and maintain the filter’s effective lifespan. If the frequent disposal of waste water causes inconvenience, you may consider overlooking the waste water volume and allowing it to flow back into the raw water tank for further filtration. However, this practice may place additional strain on the filters.
3. What to Do if the Water Dispenser Leaks
If your water dispenser is leaking, please pay attention to the following details:
Common Causes of Leakage:
-
Tilted Dispenser During Cleaning:
According to official data, 95% of leakage cases are caused by the dispenser being tilted by users rather than a malfunction. -
Improper Installation and Water Filling:
Ensure that the filter is installed correctly. If the filter is installed incorrectly or not tightened, it may cause leakage. Do not fill water outside the external transparent water tank or open the dispenser to fill any internal gaps. Incorrectly filling the dispenser can lead to severe leaks or irreparable damage. -
Wear and Tear of Components:
Individual user environments, usage patterns, and the age of the dispenser can cause different components to degrade or break, such as cracks in the ice-making water tank or aging screws in the hydrogen water tank.
Solutions:
-
For New Users:
Turn off the power and check whether the filter is installed correctly according to the manual. If not, please install it properly. -
For Regular Users:
Turn off the power for about 10 minutes to observe the leakage. Monitor whether the leakage increases and take videos and pictures of the leak, then WhatsApp them to the technical support department at 97212879, so the repair team can track the source of the leak. -
If Leakage Persists:
If the leakage location does not improve, please empty the external transparent raw water tank and proceed with the drainage process as follows:- For Large Dispensers (DM Home / Aquahome Pro 1): Press the "Reset" and "Wash" buttons simultaneously to drain water.
- For Small Dispensers (Aquahome): Press any temperature button repeatedly to drain water, dispensing 500ml each time until the built-in tank is empty.
-
For Aquahome 2: Long press the "Temperature Switch / Hot Water" button for about 3 seconds to unlock, and continue pressing until the drainage function activates.
(*Note: Before draining, prepare a large container at the outlet to collect the discharged water.)
After draining all the water, contact official repair services to arrange for inspection and repair.
If the dispenser does not leak after being turned off, it is likely that the leakage was caused by tilting, moving, or relocating the unit. Allow it to air dry or use a hairdryer to dry it, then refill and operate to see if the issue improves. If the problem persists, please contact official repair services.
4. Why Do Some Water Dispensers Experience Scaling or Floating Debris Issues?
To enhance mineral content and further adsorb unwanted colors and odors, we recommend using the CF weakly alkaline rich strontium carbon rod composite filter. However, due to varying water quality in certain regions, scaling may occur. Therefore, when using this CF filter, please keep the following points in mind:
-
Weekly Maintenance: Use the "WASH" smart cleaning function on the dispenser and perform regular drainage procedures. (Refer to the included manual or visit the Deutschmacht official YouTube channel for guidance.)
-
Filter Replacement: Replace with the CB post-carbon rod filter as needed to help alleviate scaling issues and ensure clean water quality.
5. Why Can't I Get Ice Water Immediately When I Press the "Cold" Water Temperature Mode? Why Does It Show "PREP" Instead of "COOL"?
When you select the "Cold" water temperature mode, the display shows "PREP," indicating that the cooling process is underway. The "COOL" display means that the cooling has been completed. The entire cooling process duration can vary based on the ambient temperature, typically taking about one to two hours.
Note:
Once the cooling is complete and the display shows "COOL," you can dispense approximately 300ML of ice water. After dispensing this amount, the dispenser will provide water at "Normal / Ambient" temperature. If you need more ice water, you will need to wait for the cooling process to restart.
Note: The cooling function is only applicable to the large dispensers DM Home and Aquahome Pro 1; the small Aquahome dispenser does not support this feature.
6. Why Does the Water Dispenser Make Noises or Get Hot During Operation?
-
Cooling Fan:
The water dispenser uses a cooling fan to accelerate airflow and dissipate heat during normal operation, ensuring effective performance. The fan speed adjusts based on the ambient temperature, which may result in some noise. -
Water Pump Operation:
When raw water is added, the dispenser draws and filters water from the raw water tank to the built-in tank. During this purification process, the sound of the water pump can be heard, which is normal and occurs only during pumping, filtering, or cleaning. -
Cooling Function:
When the dispenser is handling the "Cold" cooling function or maintaining cold water temperature, the cooling fan also works to expel heat, adjusting its speed according to the ambient temperature, which can produce noise. For dispensers with a "Cold" function, if you do not need to use the cold water mode, it is recommended to press and hold the "Cold" button for about 3 seconds until you hear a beep to turn off the cooling feature. The cooling fan will quiet down once the dispenser has cooled off. To promote energy efficiency and environmental conservation, it is advisable to turn off the cooling function before going to sleep.
7. What Does "TDS" Stand For?
"TDS" refers to a reference value that indicates the concentration of dissolved impurities in the water. A higher TDS number on the display indicates a greater amount of impurities in the water, while a lower number suggests fewer impurities. Therefore, it is recommended to clean the water dispenser at least once every 7 days to ensure water quality. (Refer to the included manual or visit the Deutschmacht official YouTube channel for guidance.)
8. Is There Floating Debris or Scaling in the Water Dispenser?
Due to varying water quality in certain regions, it is advised to use the "WASH" smart cleaning function weekly. This can effectively alleviate scaling issues and ensure clean water quality. (Refer to the included manual or visit the Deutschmacht official YouTube channel for guidance.)
Note:
- If the water dispenser will not be used for an extended period, such as during business trips or vacations, please drain all the water from the dispenser. You can press "RESET" and "WASH" to clear the water from the built-in tank and empty the transparent water tank.
- For the next use, please utilize the "WASH" smart cleaning function to maintain the cleanliness of the tanks and water quality. (Refer to the included manual or visit the Deutschmacht official YouTube channel for guidance.)
- If you have not followed the cleaning instructions and scaling has accumulated in the internal tank, please contact technical support via WhatsApp at 9721 2879 or inquire with the repair department about cleaning procedures.
9. Why Does the Water Dispenser Drip Occasionally? Is the Water Flow Too Slow or Too Fast?
In the development of the second-generation water dispenser, we upgraded the water flow speed. Occasional drips are normal because air bubbles can form in the pipes during drainage, especially with hydrogen-rich water. These bubbles can adhere to the pipe walls, and when they burst, gas is released from the outlet, causing droplets. While this may happen occasionally, it should not be frequent.
10. Why Is the Water Dispenser Not Dispensing Water?
If the water dispenser is not dispensing water, please check the following steps:
- Ensure all filters are installed correctly; the arrows on the filter stickers must point to "Lock" for successful installation.
- If the filters have been used for over a year, please replace them to avoid water flow blockage.
- Check if the raw water tank is filled and properly secured. After refilling, the dispenser will take 10-15 minutes to draw and filter the raw water into the built-in tank before dispensing water, so please be patient.
- If the above steps do not resolve the issue, remove the raw water tank, wait 10 seconds, and then replace it to allow the sensors to reset the operation of the dispenser. (*This applies to models DM-DW19-ROHY-1/2.)
- Ensure the "Power" button has been pressed to turn on the device.
- Try pressing the "Power" button to turn off the dispenser, wait 5 minutes, and then turn it back on.

After refilling the raw water tank, the dispenser will draw raw water from the tank and filter it into the built-in tank. This process is known as "water production." During water production, an increase in the waste water tank's volume is normal (especially after each refill). Because the RO technology filters water while simultaneously dispensing it, the separation of the raw water and waste water tanks helps ensure the effective lifespan of the filters. Additionally, as the raw water passes through three filters with a precision of 0.0001 microns, the increase in waste water is expected. Customers need not worry excessively about the amount of waste water; please be patient while the filtration process completes.
